Today
was to be a down day as we have been on the go since January 20th.
We
had decided that today we would kick back, do laundry, etc.
Well,
it didn't quit work out that way. We did do laundry this morning, had
a bite to eat for lunch then drove to Abita Springs about 20 miles
away in time to taste beer at the 2 PM tasting and do the brewery tour.
A mural made with bottle caps before they are used.
They
do things right. First we taste then we tour then we taste again.
Everyone gets a plastic cup and pours their own beer from multiple
taps. The choice is up to you. If you don't like what you poured,
just dump it down the drain and try another. We formed a line and
passed behind the bar to pour. At first the line just went round and
round as people drank what they had poured by the time there were
back behind the bar. It slowed down as people got their first thirst
slacked.
Trying my hand at a pour.
Brenda tried also.
Brenda, Budd and Ed.
We
then toured the brewery which is new and high tech and expanding.
Very impressive. They also make a very good root beer.
On
the way back to the RV's we stopped for groceries.
