Fall City, Washington

Location, Fall City, WA

We got an early start this morning because we had a longer distance to drive. At least I thought it was longer than our normal days. What took the time was all of the long grades we climbed starting with the one right out of Peach Beach. It is a sharp climb from the Columbia River to the top of the escarpment. There were several more on the road to Toppenish where we fueled up and then got on Hwy 82, a freeway which seemed strange after traveling mostly 2 lane roads for the last week and a half. I was sure happy to have the Bank’s exhaust brake on the long downhill’s.

We arrived in Fall City, WA at Snoqualmie River Campground about 12:30 PM. Most of the RV’s here appear to be locals camped for the holiday. One strange thing about each site is the cement steps up to the utility boxes. I imagine it is setup that way because the river floods in the spring. All utility boxes are about 5 feet off the ground and have metal hand rails on each side of the steps.
